Alone in Boro Park
So everyone is running around shopping for pesach. Lots of tzedakah is given out for maos chitim and for those who need funds for yom tov. But for one who is alone, no one offers a smile or a kind word. The Ha lachma anya is said behind closed doors.
The Torah warns us not to forget the yasom and almana while you enjoy yom tov. Yet, no one calls or visits to inquire about how I will manage for yom tov. I called and left a message for a good friend who is blessed with a nice family. My call was not returned.
The smile and kind word is the realy charity that doesn't cost money. Yet everyone is so into themselves and don't even have a second for a lonely soul. I don't think this is what hashem had in mind.
